MATERIALIZING MEMORY
STRATEGIES FOR RECORDING AND ARCHIVING IN CULTURAL MEDIATION

The publication Materializing Memory: Strategies for Recording and Archiving in Cultural Mediation is now available in digital format!
This publication, designed by artist Raquel G. Ibáñez, brings together the work process and lessons learned from this research, with contributions from LaFundició, the Tabakalera Donostia Mediation Team, Christian Fernández Mirón, and La UNDERGROUND Colectiva. These are professionals who work in cultural mediation, collective research, and arts education, but also in other fields such as group facilitation, socio-community intervention, and social work.

This research, carried out thanks to the Madrid City Council's Grants for Contemporary Creation and National and International Mobility, has delved into the ways of working and methodologies used to record and report on what happens in participatory and collective creation processes.

THIS MONTH WE WALK...
GIVE ME YOUR STRENGTH, PEGASUS
AS PART OF THE PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE EXHIBITION INVOKING MADRID
Wednesday, November 26

This tour was created in the spring of 2020, at a time of joy and rediscovery marked by our return to the streets and the gradual recovery of the use of public space. It was also a time marked by uncertainty and the feeling of having to start all over again. This will be the first time we have done this tour as a group.

The walk is part of the program of public activities for the Invoking Madrid exhibition, which brings together and reactivates part of everything collected over La Liminal's 10-year history. You can visit it at the Quinta del Sordo Contemporary Creation Center until January 17, 2026.

You can find more information and sign up for this and other activities here.
COMING SOON
CITY, POETRY AND SONGS
A RECITAL ABOUT LIFE, EVERYDAY EXPERIENCES, AND OUR ANCESTORS, WITH ISABEL MARTÍN
AS PART OF THE PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE INVOCAR MADRID EXHIBITION
Saturday, November 8 / 10:00 to 12.00 h.

In the program of public activities for the Invoking Madrid exhibition, we want to think critically about the city, imagine its future together, and project how we want to inhabit it. To this end, several cultural collectives are occupying the exhibition space and presenting their work and methodologies.

The first activity in November will be this recital by Isabel Martín, who will take us on a poetic and sonic journey that connects the city and its territories with the intimate and collective voices of those who inhabit them. All this through the lyrics and songs of fregá los platos, a blend of popular oral tradition, domestic singing, and poetic experimentation.

This activity, which we are organizing in collaboration with Elástica Librería, is free to attend until full capacity is reached. You can find more information here.
THE HOUSE IN THE EYE OF THE STORM
WE PARTICIPATE IN THE EDUCATHYSSEN STORIES PROGRAM
The home is often the center of our lives. An immovable place, a refuge, a starting point. Numerous artists have addressed its representation and the idea of expanding it, overflowing it, or blowing it up. Based on these questions about other ways of inhabiting, we write in the EducaThyssen Historias program, a reading project that seeks to enrich narratives about art from an educational point of view.

In addition, based on those proposals that shake up the seemingly safe space of the home and encourage us to rethink its possibilities, we are organizing a walk at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, which will take place on Thursday, November 13, at 5:00 p.m.

You can read the result of our participation in the Stories program here, and access information and registration for the tour here.
